Company History

Serv-I-Quip began in 1981 as a spinoff of the DuPont Co. A group of engineers from the Freon® Products Laboratory, Bell Laboratory, and a marketing manager from the Business Development Group took advantage of a DuPont restructuring plan to take their product concepts and business model ideas directly to industry manufacturers. While Serv-I-Quip retained the service and support heritage of DuPont, the emphasis on new technology to improve efficiency, performance, and value soon resulted in a reputation for innovative, quality products.

Serv-I-Quip has grown steadily since then. We have increased our staff, expanded our manufacturing and machining facilities, researched new technologies and developed new products. In 1991 we moved into a new office and manufacturing facility in Downingtown, PA. Our product line began to expand with the addition of the Electrical Safety and Run Test System to our HVAC/R products, and the development of Fluid Fill Equipment for the Vehicle Manufacturing Industries. By 1994 we had installed a complete equipment package that included A/C Fill, Coolant Fill, Power Steering Fill, and Transmission Fill Systems at a major automobile manufacturing facility. In 1997 we met another customer need with the release of our DataServ Data Acquisition and Process Control Software. Process configuration and production results could now be monitored and managed remotely via a network connected PC. In 2004 we updated this software to a .net framework, allowing access to all configuration functions and production data via the internet. We are currently turning our attention to the improvement of leak testing methods, especially those utilizing helium.

Our continued success in meeting our customers’ needs requires a dedicated staff of knowledgeable employees and the support of customers who demand the best. Over the last 25 years, the growth in knowledge and expertise of our staff has become our most important asset. Continuing to satisfy a growing customer base is our biggest achievement.

We’d like to thank everyone in the many industries we serve for helping us get to this point. We promise to continue working hard to increase the efficiency and quality of our products – and consequently your products - for the next 25 years.
