Leak testing critical subassemblies or component parts before releasing to production is becoming a common process, or a requirement. Implementing an efficient, accurate, and cost effective leak testing process is the key to achieving these goals.
This criteria has led to the development of our Parts Testing Box Stations. Individually designed parts jigs are mounted in a shielded air exchange booth. Operator places the part in a jig, all open ports are automatically sealed, and leak test points are enclosed. Part is automatically vacuum tested to find gross leaks, then pressurized with helium. A helium leak detector automatically sniffs each individual leak point. System vents helium, flushes box, and releases part to operator. Cycle times average 30 - 40 seconds per part.
This system is a cost effective alternative to chamber testing for many applications. Parts testing is automatic, operator independent, accurate, and fast.
