Until now, manufacturers have been faced with a choice when it comes to leak testing systems. Either install a system that is automatic but not capable of pinpointing a leak location, or go with a system that can pinpoint a leak, but is dependent on a skilled and conscientious operator. Serv-I-Quip can now offer an alternative that combines the best features of both systems.

 

IGT400 Helium Leak Test System

The IGT400 is the first Helium Leak Testing System to bring automated, cost effective, and reliable leak testing to the manufacturing process. Operator error and inconsistent results are eliminated. False positives from helium contaminated environments are also mitigated. Multiple joint locations can be tested sequentially to provide a total system leak rate and precise leak locations.

 

Serv-I-Quip utilizes miniature gas traps to encapsulate each leak test location, perform the leak detection, and provide isolation from the surrounding environment. The gas trap samples the encapsulated area and sends it to a leak detector capable of sensing a leak in the 10-5 range. Operator input is limited to attaching the gas traps and initiating the start cycle. Each sensor is automatically purged from previous cycle and calibrated for current helium background conditions. All test points can be averaged together for a cumulative leak rate, or sequentially tested for individual leak limits. The result is a fast, accurate, and repeatable leak test suitable for use as a six sigma process benchmark.

 

Calibration is simple and automatic. Gas traps are designed to fit individual applications. This system can be combined with our other test stations or stand alone.
